Phil & Cathy Stuart were married in 1994.

Phil trained as an Electrician and Cathy as a Cytologist.

In 1995 they joined Mobile Mission Maintenance as “mobiles” traveling all over Australia assisting Christian organisations in their building and maintenance work. It was during these five years that they learnt their varied building skills.

In 1996, their son Joshua was born.

During this time, they saw the need for a pastoral care ministry in the “outback”.

In 2000 the Lord led Phil to begin a Bachelor of Theology degree at Trinity Theological College in Perth, WA, (completed 2003), in preparation for their new ministry.

As Phil began college, the Lord led them to become foster parents, which they continued until mid 2003.

In 2003, Phil was appointed as the “Pastoral Assistant” at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Kelmscott, WA.

In March 2004, Phil was ordained as a Minister of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

From Dec 2003 to July 2009, the Stuarts were full time field staff with Spinifex Ministries providing pastoral care to those in remote ministry in the NT and North of WA.

Due to Joshua's schooling and social needs they settled down into a stationary ministry with AIM (Australian Indigenous Ministries) at Alice Springs while continuing on with SM in an administrative role.
