AIM Alice Springs Staff Job Description

To provide oversight and development of the AIM work in Alice Springs with the aim of developing Indigenous local leadership and pastoral care.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintain and develop the Alice Springs AIM church through:

•  Developing culturally appropriate worship.

• Developing Indigenous leadership.

• Providing sound Biblical training and instruction to leaders and members.

• Explore ways for the church to reach out into the Alice Springs and surrounding community. including town camps.

• Develop a pastoral care program for Indigenous visitors to Alice Springs, in particular those visiting for medical reasons.

Assist the church to:

• Develop Culturally appropriate worship.

• Develop a children and youth ministry. This could include working withy Yirara College and other schools within the town.

• Work towards financial self reliance.

• Ensure adequate financial records are kept and audited each year.

Explore ways for Indigenous Christians to be equipped to live and work within the dominant Western culture.

Seek opportunities for contact and ministry development in Communities within the Alice Springs region.
